Στην παιδική μου ηλικία, τότε δεν είχαμε πόσιμο νερό στα σπίτια αλλά το προμηθευόμαστε από βρύσες που ήταν στα σταυροδρόμια & στις πλατείες των συνοικιών, την Πρωτομαγιά οι μητέρες στόλιζαν μια κανάτα δένοντας γύρω- γύρω άνθη & τα παιδιά πήγαιναν στη βρύση κι έφερναν νερό στο σπίτι με αυτή την κανάτα για το καλό του μήνα. Μάλιστα το βρήκα γραμμένο σε μια έκθεση μου σε ένα τετράδιο του δημοτικού που ανακάλυψα πρόσφατα. Σε ανάμνηση του εθίμου σας δείχνω μια κανάτα στολισμένη με την τεχνική του decoupage που την έχω μετατρέψει σε ανθοδοχείο.
